Unusual Ancient Roman Glass Bottle from Afghanistan (#7241)
Big Roman glass bottle that was mined in Western Afghanistan. This lovely bottle has a lot of stories to tell and is rich in history. The bottle is a unique shape and is not perfectly symmetrical. The density varies as well - it is thinner around the opening but thick along the base. There is a hairline crack on the opening which I've tried to make visible in the photos. The surface of the exterior and interior is calcified. There is some iridescence. This is about 2.5" tall and 3" wide in the center. This is an original piece and appears overall intact.
