Vintage Kashmiri Tribal Button Decoration Pendant Rare (#1)
Amazing, vintage Kashmiri button decoration - this is inserted into buttonholes on traditional ethnic clothing. This is heavy, well-made, and not something that is commonly available. The entire piece is about 16" long. There are three buttons on the back. A string runs through the dangles on the pendant - strings are often used in this manner to ensure everything stays on. The markings and symbols are made with intention - often used as a means to ward off evil and protect the wearer from harm; there are stylized evil eye patterns, hamsa dangles, and floral motifs as well. This is heavy - it's 9 ounces/252 grams. The metal is a champagne color due to copper content. This is a vintage tribal item from Kashmir.
