Vintage Tribal Bead Bicone with Dangles Worn Through in Back (#8802)
Amazing Afghan or Pakistani bicone bead with jingling dangles and an unusual embossed starburst pattern that has faded from many years of use. The pattern is more faint on the back than the front most likely due to rubbing against clothing. Which has also led to a hole developing from so much rubbing - how long does that take?! Wow, anyhow, this is such a lovely piece and I can imagine that someone else will feel the same. There are three bails with flower accents. The bead is about 2" wide. This could be from the Nuristan region of Afghanistan, but may be from Kohistan, Pakistan, I am not positive about the origins. The metal color is neither distinctly silver nor golden but lays somewhere in between. There is visible oxidation. The hole openings are about 7mm across. This is a vintage item from a tribal culture - it has signs of age and use which I've tried to make visible.
Different monitors and phone apps show colors differently. I do my best to accurately document color using both photos and written descriptions. If you have any questions, please send me a message.
