Very unusual and unique old bracelet from the Tirah Valley region located between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The protruding metal and the unique ends create a makara-like appearance. And while the region is mostly a Pashtun region, there is a Sikh community as well, which could explain the makara design influence. This is a very well-worn piece with visible history evident, including a small hole near one end - visible in photos. There is surface wear, small indents and scuffs, oxidation, and an aged appearance. The metal is a gray/brown/tan tone. The inner circumference is 6", including the opening. The width to slide your wrist through is 1" across. This corresponds to the picture of the bracelet laying on my wrist from the side. The 1" width is how much room you have push the bracelet on the side of your wrist. Hollow but not lightweight or flimsy. Gorgeous, historical, unique jewelry.
