Vintage, hard-to-find, Turkmen pendant. This pendant is unique - there is a bit of rattling/jingle when shaken, but not an obvious bell. The rattling may be from pitch (bits of metal) from when it was made, I'm not sure. Regardless, this one makes a sound, although I wouldn't call it a bell. On the bottom is a decorative flower - all the petals and center are missing their jewels. Braided wirework around the middle and coiled wire around the bail. This is about 2.25" long with a 4" circumference. Beautiful pendant from Northern Afghanistan's ethnic Turkmen population.
The metal is a tan/gray color with a light golden color band around the center. There is surface wear, dusty crevices, and an aged appearance.
