Vintage, unique Turkmen bridal hair tassel. About 12.5" long. There are red accents on the triangular portion - the smaller ones are made of plastic, the center is glass. The plastic pieces are scuffed with age and use. Traditionally these usually fasten to the bride's braids/plaits with a hook but there is no hook on this one. The metal is a gray/silver/tan color and most likely made of an alloy. There are a series of connectors, bell-like accents, and traditional dangles that make up the tassel fringe. Makes a sound with movement - the sound is used not only to announce the presence of the wearer but also used to ward off the evil eye. This weighs about 7 ounces.
